New project

I'm currently working on a project in the hopes of sharing stories with other story tellers. I've decided to create a blog and invite others to e-mail me stories that they use. I have stories of my own, stories from magazines and stories addapted form traditional folktales that I want to share. I'm allways on the lookout for new material, going to workshops and such to steal ideas, so I thought there might be others like me out there who would be interested. http://caloundrastorytime.blogspot.com/ check it out

Big changes in the life of me

Big changes, I'm now working from Kawana Library which is much quieter and has a more laid back feel, thank goodness because I was so stressed out I couldn't think straight. Anyhoo I had heaps of fun the other night at Patch Adam's talk it was so inspirational to hear someone talk about living a life of joy, who has actually done so. And he brought up good points like living alone is really a relatively new experience for human beings who are essentially tribal creatures. he names fear, boredom and loneliness as the cause of most illness, asking how we could be lonely in a world of 6 billion people when all we need is the word hello and we would never be lonely. How can we be bored when we can see birds fly and imagine we are with them. How can we be afraid when all we need is to gather people around us and turn on a light. very interesting s thought provoking. Remember live a life of joy, wake up and choose to be happy, it is a choice.

Coastal Caring Clowns

I recently joined a group called the Coastal Caring Clowns. We visit nursing homes and hospitals dressed as clowns to cheer up the inmates. I've learnt to tie balloon animals and how to release my inner clown.

My inner clown is Ruby, a very naughty five year old who thinks everyone is beautiful or gorgeous.

Next Tuesday some of us are going to Brisbane to see Patch Adams, tha man himself, speak. I AM SOOO EXCITED! We get to go dressed as clowns and everything. I'll be the one in the red dress and wig.

First Entry

Hi all,
This is my very first entry. I'm afraid it's a bit boring as I am currently in a class learning about BLOGS and so do not have much time. I'll add some more later. I am a 26 year old library assistant and part time clown.
Sarah

P.S. this is a picture of the famous fairy tree.
It's got a very romantic story about it.
